School Image

Winter Break - School Closure December 16, 2024 to January 3, 2025

School will be closed from December 16, 2024 to January 3, 2025. If you signed your child up for Winter Academy Program, Dec 16 - Dec 18, your child will attend another school. Shirley is not a hosting school.

During these three weeks, please continue to read with your child, or take them to the library to preserve their academic skills. Enjoy outings with your family and please be safe.

From Shirley Staff, have a wonderful holiday break and best holiday wishes to you and your family. School will resume on Monday, January 6, 2025.

Lost & Found Clothing Items

If your child has lost a jacket, sweater, lunch tote or water bottle, please come to our lost and found to see if you can retrieve the lost item.

Our Mission

We believe that children can reach their full potential in a nurturing environment. We also believe that teachers, students, administrators and parents have the right to feel safe and respected for what they have to contribute to the education of the students at Shirley Avenue Elementary.
The mission of Shirley Avenue Elementary School is to produce well-rounded children who have the ability to think critically, master the Common Core grade level standards, and possess character skills that will allow them to be productive members of our society.
Shirley Avenue Elementary will maintain a cohesive and positive school environment. Teachers will be able to collaborate, and design curriculum to address the specific needs of the students. Our faculty and administration along with parents work together for the common goal of ensuring that all students perform to their full potential.
